  </Step>

  <Step title="Step 5 — Contacts">
    * Add external contacts (landlords, property managers): search for the company, select the related contact, choose a role, and click **Link Company/Contact**
    * Add internal contacts (lease approver, rent approver): click **Add** in the Internal Contacts table, choose a role, search for the user by name, and click **OK**
    * Click **Next**
  </Step>

  <Step title="Step 6 — Documents">
    * Click a folder (for example, Legal Documents), then click **New** to upload a file or **New (External)** to link a URL
    * Optionally send a notification to internal contacts when uploading
    * Click **Save as Draft** to complete the setup
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Note>The new lease is saved in **Draft** status. Submit it for approval from the Basic Info tab when it is ready for review.</Note>

## Navigate the lease home

The lease home has two main areas: the **Actions** panel on the left and the **Lease Search** on the right. The search defaults to active leases. Use the status dropdown to include draft, expired, or other statuses. From the search results, open **Lease Details** or **Lease Financials** using the action buttons in the row or the header actions.
