# User management

## User roles description

The following user permission levels are available within Locatee Analytics:

* **User**: Allows accessing the Locatee Analytics Dashboard to analyze historical office utilization data. Typically given to Corporate Real Estate Managers, Facility Managers, Workspace Managers
* **Desk Mapping**: Allows access to perform desk mapping. Typically given to local Workspace Managers or onsite IT teams who perform the desk mapping.
* **Data Validator**: Allows access to perform data validation. Typically given to local Workspace Managers or onsite IT teams who perform the data validation session.

The Admin roles allow accessing the Locatee Analytics Dashboard. In addition, they also allow the following functions in Locatee Admin:

* **CRE Admin**: Configuring space attributes, assigning space attributes and zones
* **IT Admin**: Configuring data sources

Roles can be combined, i.e. one user may have more than one role. Precedence is given to the one with most elevated permissions.

## Editing user roles

1. Go to **Admin → Users**
2. Filter for the desired user in the Name column.
3. Click the **Edit** icon.
4. Grant the desired permissions in the **Roles** section.
5. Click **Save** to confirm. Changes will take effect from the next login.
