# Filters

# Time period selector

![](https://files.readme.io/995b96e-image.png)

Allows selecting different time changes for data analysis.

* The default range is “Last 30 days”. This can be configured to be another value upon customer request.
* Data is stored indefinitely, any date range where data was collected can be chosen.

# Region

![](https://files.readme.io/3a38e86-image.png)

Allows filtering which regions and countries are visible. This filter is available only in the **Portfolio Overview** page.

* The default value is to show all regions and countries.
* When using this filter, a list of countries will appear as selectable items. The user can choose from this list, or use the search box to search for either regions and/or countries.
* This filter is useful for comparing specific buildings to each other.

# Peak calculation

![](https://files.readme.io/24dc4e3-image.png)

Allows choosing how peak utilisation calculations are performed.

* Peak utilisation is the maximum concurrent number of people present or spaces used over a given time period.
* **Average** peak utilisation takes the daily maximum, and averages them (using the mean value).
* **Absolute** peak utilisation takes the single largest daily peak value over the selected time period.
* The default value for peak calculation is **Absolute**. It can be configured to be average upon customer request.
* Using the **absolute peak utilisation** allows users to be aware and consider what the busiest levels of utilisation looks like in their building. By optimising space according to absolute peak utilisation, users can be sure that there is always enough space for everyone. It is a conservative approach to space planning.
* Using the **average peak utilisation** allows users to plan space needs based on more typical values for what the busiest levels of utilisation looks like in their building. Outliers (days with very high values) are downplayed due to the average being taken. By optimising space according to average peak utilisation, users can be more aggressive in how much space they plan.

# Space type

![](https://files.readme.io/15fe04d-image.png)

Choose to view space utilisation levels for only desks or all spaces (desks, meeting rooms, collaboration areas etc.)

* The default value is *Desks* can can be configured to *All* upon customer request.
* The space type filter is only available for *space* metrics. When looking at *people* metrics, this option is not available.
* Using the **Desks** space type filter allows users to understand what their building’s desk utilisation levels look like and understand how much space (in terms of desks) they need.
* Using the **All** space type filter allows users to understand how busy their overall building spaces look like regardless of the activity the employees in the building are performing.

# Spaces / people toggle

![](https://files.readme.io/51fc27b-image.png)

* **Spaces** shows measurements assigned to a dedicated place within an office where people can work and what Locatee measures individually.
* **People** shows measurements related to the total number of individuals in the building, no matter where they are located. That includes: desks, meeting rooms, phone booths, etc.
