Lease accounting entries flow from the accounting schedules. The process involves creating an accrual batch, approving it, and then posting the periods.

Create and approve an accrual batch

1

Open Batch Accrual

From the lease home, click Batch Accrual.
2

Generate accrual entries

Click Generate Accrual Entries. Select the Accrual Type (for example, 842 AP GL Integration), then choose the Fiscal Period and Year.
3

Review the batch

The Manage tab populates with the batch details. Scroll horizontally to see all columns. Use the first row of the table to search within the results. Click Export to download to Excel for additional review.
4

Save

Click Save to retain any changes.
5

Approve the batch

Click Approve. The batch status changes from Draft to Approved.
The Approve button is only available to users with the appropriate security rights.
Once approved, if your company uses a GL integration, Tango exports the batch file to your ERP system. The batch status then changes from Approved to Exported and the period statuses change from Planned to Processed.

Post periods manually (no integration)

If your company does not use a GL integration, you must manually post periods.
1

Open Post Periods

From the lease home, click Post Periods.
This action is only visible to companies that do not use a GL integration.
2

Set the posting parameters

  • Select Payable or Receivable
  • Choose the Month, Year, and Lease Financials Group
  • Select All leases or choose specific leases using Select Leases
3

Post

Click OK. You receive a success message when the period is posted.
4

Verify the status

Navigate to Lease Financials → Lease Accounting for a lease that was included. Select the active schedule and click the Schedule tab. Search for the posted period — its posting status is now Processed.
Once a period is processed, it cannot be modified. If changes are needed, a new schedule must be generated.
