When a lease is amended, you update the relevant fields in Tango and create a change history record to document what changed, why it changed, and the impact.

Update the lease record

1

Open Lease Details

From the lease home, select the amended lease and click Lease Details.
2

Update affected fields

Make the necessary changes across the relevant tabs — for example, update key dates on Basic Info, revise option terms on Options and Terms, or update amounts on Recurring Costs.
3

Save each tab

Click Save on each tab where you made changes.

Record the amendment in Change History

1

Open Change History

From Lease Details, click the Change History tab.
2

Review auto-generated entries

Certain changes (such as financial updates) automatically generate a change history record. Review any auto-generated entries first.
3

Create a manual entry

Click New to add a change history record manually.
  • Change Type — categorize the change (for example, Data Change – Non-Financial)
  • Change Subtype — provide a more specific category (for example, Area Change)
  • Impact checkboxes — check the boxes that reflect the impact of the change (Rent Impact, Area Impact, etc.)
  • Comments — describe the reason for the change in detail
4

Upload amendment documents

Click Upload to attach the signed amendment or supporting documents. Uploaded files appear in the documents table on the change history record.
5

Save

Click Save. The new record appears in the change history list.

Resubmit for approval

If your company requires lease approval, use the Reapprove button on the Basic Info tab to send the amended lease back through the approval workflow.
Certain changes that affect financial records — such as CPI adjustments — automatically populate a change history record with a type of “Data Change – Financial”. Review and complete these records to maintain a full audit trail.
