When lease terms change — such as a rent modification, term extension, or remeasurement — you recalculate the accounting schedule. The system archives the old schedule and activates a new one.
1

Review recent changes

Start by checking Lease Details → Change History to understand what changed on the lease. Then review the key components: key dates, options and terms, and recurring costs.
2

Open the active schedule

Go to Lease Financials → Lease Accounting. Select the active schedule from the list.
Verify that all periods have been posted with no gaps before recalculating. A gap in posting status will block the recalculation with an error message.
3

Click Recalculate

Click the Recalculate button. The button is disabled if there are no processed periods on the schedule.
4

Fill in the recalculation form

The pop-up shows the original schedule in read-only mode. Complete the following:
  • Reason checkboxes — indicate the reason for recalculation (for example, Term Extension)
  • New Effective To Date — defaults to the latest option term marked “Include in Accounting Schedule”
  • Included Payment Types — carry over from the original schedule
  • New Borrowing Rate — enter if not auto-populated
  • Additional Incentives or Direct Costs — if applicable
  • Cease Use Date — if applicable
5

Recalculate

Click Recalculate in the pop-up. The system archives the original schedule and creates a new active schedule.
6

Review the new schedule

Click the Schedule tab to view the updated amortization. Use Export to download for review.
The Accounting Schedules Requiring Review action on the lease home shows all schedules with a status of “Recalculate” — a useful starting point when lease changes have triggered automatic status updates.
